Important Safety Notice for Caps in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of caps (snapback, adjustable with Velcro, with buckle, “fitted”, trucker with mesh, curved/flat visor). As they may contain small parts, a hard visor, metal elements, and flammable textiles, and may affect the field of vision, please follow the instructions below.

Basic Safety and Handling Principles

• Keep out of reach of small children: Removable/logo decorations, studs, buckles, and labels pose a choking hazard; the product is not a toy.
• Visor and field of vision: Do not wear pulled down too low over the eyes; a limited field of vision increases the risk of injury when moving and operating non-motorized vehicles.
• Fire and heat: Textiles and foam padding are flammable; keep away from flames, sparks, and hot surfaces.
• Safety gear: The cap does not replace a helmet or other PPE; do not wear under a helmet unless the helmet manufacturer allows it.

Proper and Safe Use

• Size adjustment: Adjust the fastening so the cap fits securely but does not press; do not let sharp edges of plastic strips and metal clasps contact the skin.
• Activities: For sports and fast movement, choose a secure fastening; avoid use in windy weather without securing it – risk of loss and distraction.
• UV and weather: The visor provides only limited shading; use sunscreen and/or sunglasses for UV protection. Allow to dry thoroughly if wet.
• Decorations and accessories: Heavy metal/sharp applications may cause injury; do not wear them during sports or sleep.

Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage

• Cleaning: Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent; do not forcibly bend the visor with insert and do not wash in hot water. Do not use aggressive cleaners or bleach.
• Drying and shape: Air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources; maintain the visor shape without breaking.
• Parts inspection: Regularly check seams, mesh, buckles, and Velcro; repair or replace loose or sharp parts.
• Storage: Store dry and ventilated; do not place heavy objects on it to avoid deforming the visor.

Specific Health Warnings

• Allergies and sensitive skin: Metal studs/buckles (e.g., nickel), dyes, and sweatbands may cause reactions; discontinue use if redness or itching occurs.
• Hygiene: After sweating, clean and dry the inner band and skin contact areas; prolonged moisture may cause irritation.

Disposal

• Sorted waste: Deliver textiles to textile collection; separate metal/plastic parts according to local regulations. Wrap sharp/damaged parts to prevent injury to waste handlers.

Incidents and Contact

• In case of an incident (fall due to limited visibility, skin reaction, injury from sharp parts), immediately stop using the product and seek medical assistance if necessary. Keep the product and proof of purchase for complaint processing.
